This year's Charity Regatta brings you a unique opportunity, the 'Race of Champions'.
This special one day race provides you the opportunity to experience the thrill of sailing aboard one of Dana Point’s top performance race boats and
is open to bidders in a special online auction. If you would like to experience the excitement of racing aboard some of the winning yachts in
many local and international yacht races, then this is the event for you!
Prior sailing experience is not necessary to participate in this relaxed and fun-filled event. The race format will be non-spinnaker to maximize the
fun for novice sailors. The only requirement is to help us raise money for this year's Charity Regatta beneficiary, the Ocean Institute, by placing
your bid for one of the limited number of crew spots on the five boats participating in this 'Race of Champions'. The top 8 bidders will be given
their choice of boat to race aboard, starting with the highest bidder. Selections will be made the morning of the event during the Skipper’s meeting. All other winning bidders
will be assigned to the remaining crew spots on the race boats by random drawing.
The mission of the Ocean Institute is to inspire all generations, through education, to become responsible stewards of our oceans. Their vision
is to be the world's best experiential ocean educational organization.

Champions. You can bid for a spot on a boat by clicking the link below and stating the dollar amount of your donation bid to the Ocean Institute
and including your name and phone number. The 'Buy It Now' option is a $500 bid and guarantees you one of the available crew spots but does
not automatically guarantee you a boat of choice spot.
The top 20 bids will be updated here each day. You can submit a higher bid at any time up to the deadline of the bidding. Only the winning
bids will be required to be completed with a check payable to the Ocean Institute. Winning bid donations must be made by the time of the Skipper's meeting the morning of
the event. Those who don’t win a crew spot are welcome to donate and join us for the land based events on September 6 - 9th.
Minimum starting bids are $100 per crew spot and minimum bid increases are $25.00. The 'Buy It Now' option is a $500 bid. Your paid bid is a
tax deductible donation to the Ocean Institute.
Bidding ends September 5, 2007 - 7pm PDT.
